Labor Day 2007

Marg and I decided to take a trip in  the camper. We headed out  Saturday after she got off from work. Destination?
Cherry Springs Park, Pa.

Mary said good bye

The birds are ready to go

All ready, oh here's your mail.

Bought some KFC for the road and  stopped here in NY to eat it.  Added the NY sticker to the map on the camper.

On the way we decide to do some geocaching.  There were 4  along our route that we wanted to check out.  The first was "Park It here."  We didn't find it but we did take some nice pictures.

The second one we went looking for was  "Dinosaur Park"  We got right to the place it should have been but it was dark and Marg  couldn't see to drive into the park.
We headed back on down the road and made it to Cherry Springs Park.
It was dark when we got there so we parked right inside the gate. The next morning we looked around
These are private owned telescopes Our registration form We found a place and set up camp
We decided to check out another cache that we listed. This one was right in the park somewhere. Our GPS took us over the field and into the woods.
Marg wanted to put out the awning Boy was it WET
I found it! Oh look what's inside All kinds of goodies
Reading some of what they wrote I took a green dragon and left a doll Put it back where it was nice and safe

Got back to the camper & took a nap.

This talks about the old cabin These signs tell you of what you  see

The Pavilion where  the demonstration is to be held. The forest ranger "Liz" showed us how to build a campfire using some steel wool and a C size battery to start the fire. She told stories until it got dark.

We then got out our chairs and coats and blankets and waited for the stars to come out. It was beautiful. I think there were more stars here than in Arizona. But it got cold quick. Even so the blankets and  the soft gust of warm air from  time to time made it a very pleasant evening. Marg saw about 6 "shooting star - meteors". But they were too quick for these old eyes.

In the morning (Monday) we got up and got ready to leave. The dew was so thick on  the ground it looked like it had rained. The camper was really wet.

Birds saying "Let's go home" I made breakfast MMM goood

Marg says let's go stopped to do some shopping wow glad we don't need gas

Along the way we stopped to find a Cache called "Winner$ Only  " that is suppose to have some lottery tickets in it.
Stopped alongside the school I think the nature path is this way This is all I found
The hint says you can see it from here.

Looks like this is new, maybe some beavers found it and went to Florida with the winnings

Nice walk though.
On our way home again.
We stopped by the Dinosaur Park once more to see if we could find the Cache. No luck and was told that it was a private area so we left.  Heading Home now.

Ok so I told her to turn East onto 86 This road is supposed to take us home Finally we got to 86 W and then to Pa
We got home at 5pm and unloaded the camper and Marg processed the pictures and posted this page.
It was a nice trip. Whew I am tired.
