Thanksgiving Holiday  11- 22-07

Marge took off work for the holidays. We decided to make a vacation of it.

We had Thanksgiving Dinner at her house.
Lei Ann came. I got a camcorder as an early Christmas gift so the photos are in movie form.

After Dinner we relaxed and then got ready for a shopping spree. This year Value City opened up at Midnight instead of early morning. We were there. They gave out $10 coupons if you spent $20 or more. Well we spent more.

We came home unloaded the car, got an hour sleep and then went to Wal-Mart at 5am.
 Friday Nov 23rd
I got what I wanted, Marg got what she wanted.
We came home and packed our bags and new toys and headed out for a Holiday.
When we left Erie it was fine, we got near the rest area before Meadville and it was a light big flake snow.

My new toy talks. You put in where you want to go or have it find the closest gas, food, lodging, address or type in a name, city or area.
The only thing it don't do is tell you when there's a red light or if the motel is full.

It was getting dark so we asked my new toy to find us a motel.
It was nice and we had cable In the morning there was frost on the windshield but no new snow.

5/24/07
My friend Sue called  and we went to her house and then to breakfast. My new toy found her house and a restaurant in  the area.

Then we uses the GPS to tell us how to find the caches in the area.
Army cache: Fallen Heroes should never be forgotten
The cows came over like we had food for them I walked around the memorial
There it is It was frozen to the ground,
I broke my thumbnail getting it loose.
We took it back to the van to open it up. We took a frog for Sue, key chains, cross and left a dinosaur, candle and tie bar.
After putting it back and covering it up, we took off for the next cache. "A Small Country Cemetery"
The GPS took us round and round but I found it.
Signed the log, left a thermometer wrapped in bubble wrap and put it back.
Sue took movies with my camcorder.

On to the next one.  "The Ice Man Cometh"   The clue was Be on your guard - no need to get zapped.

The GPS got us close, but then far away. Marge tried to get within a few feet before we got out to walk around. It was cold and there were three different roads to where this thing was hidden. Well  Sue said  there's an Ice Company and some high tension wires. Marg parked and I got out and found it before  they even got out of the car.   Easy find.

Here it is. very small.
I signed the log and left my two cents

The Ice Company

Putting it back

Now it was time for Sue to get ready for work, so we dropped her back at her house and went to the next Cache. "  Purple Flowers"

Nice walk in the woods. Glad the trail was full of leaves and not snow. Left a cell phone holder, kitchen box of goodies, took a couple of travel bugs to get going before winter really sets in. Got another stamp but didn't need it  we have the beautiful geo coin already.
Put it back and took a picture to help the next one find it.
It was getting dark so we had my new toy find us a motel for the night. On the way we passed a little town that really got into Christmas. Each pole had a real tree in a bucket along with Santa waving at the traffic. In  the center of town was a manger scene. And then Santa and a tree on each pole leaving town.
Hey Santa Manger in the center of town
Franklin motel Our room
11/25/07 Continental Breakfast in the morning
I had coffee and Danish Marg had French toast and orange juice
Then we set the GPS for the next cache and out we went.
This is hunting season, we need to wear orange or yellow. walked too far down this road and didn't find the cache
We said forget that and on to the next one. This brought us to Pithole Pa
There was a town of 15,000 people here during the oil days  Walked all around and the GPS kept loosing the satellite
No find so heading back to Erie.
On the way we stopped at one near 38th Street. Walked along a path in this "park" but no find
Going home and calling it a day. All in all we had a good time
